Capacity Building for Youth Leaders of Religious and Traditional Groups on Tolerance and Cultural Diversity for Sustained Peace and Development in Ghana

Description of organization: The Federation of Youth Clubs is a non-governmental umbrella group. It consists of 150 Youth Clubs and organizations, and has its headquarters in Accra, Ghana. The group is working for human dignity and youth progress by: Uniting youth clubs and organizations; Promoting the culture of human rights and civic responsibility; Providing leadership and skills training to the youth; Promoting the general welfare of the youth.

Project description: The project aimed to build the capacity of 30 young leaders from youth organizations and clubs in Christian, Muslim and Traditional religious areas of the greater Accra region. This was reached by uniting them together during a workshop promoting diversity, conflict prevention, and human rights. Each of the three religious groups nominated 10 youth representatives of their respective communities to attend the workshops.
